Vehicle coverage
A/C and heating
Heating and air conditioning work hardest in hot and cold climates, and A/C repairs can be costly. These systems are commonly included starting at the middle plan level.
What this covers on many plans
- A/C compressor, condenser and evaporator
- Blower motor and resistor
- Heater core
- Climate control module, on some plans
What usually causes these failures
- Refrigerant leaks from aged seals and lines
- Compressor wear after long hot seasons
- Debris and corrosion on the condenser
Often not covered
- Refrigerant recharge on its own, since a leak must be found and repaired
- Cabin air filters
- Cosmetic or trim parts
- Problems that existed before coverage began
Questions to ask before you buy
- Is refrigerant covered when a covered part fails?
- Is the climate control module covered?
- Are there limits for the A/C system as a whole?
Coverage depends on the plan you choose. The covered list, exclusions, limits and service fee in your contract decide what is paid. Ask for them in writing before you buy.
